Disgusting is an understatement to explain what this 18-year-old had to experience. The photo is very upsetting and gross. It shows a teenage girl covered in blood because two people attacked her and yelled‘f****** lesbian’, which is about her being a lesbian. This also happened to be in her street.
The attackers reportedly assaulted Ellie-Mae, using hateful language and calling her a ‘f*g lesbian.’ They also threatened her and her partner with even worse treatment in the future.
Ellie-Mae was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary to get medical care for her injuries, as per her sister, Stevie-Leigh Ansell, shared.
Stevie-Leigh explained: “My younger sister was on her way home from a friend’s house. She ran into a couple of people she normally considers friends. One of them owed her ten pounds, and when Ellie-Mae brought it up, the situation escalated.”
‘The lass said she never had it. Then they both beat her [Ellie-Mae] black and blue.
‘Because she is gay they called her a ‘f*g lesbian, you and your girlfriend are going to get it ten times worse next time’.
This entire incident took place while she was talking to her mom on the phone.
Stevie-Leigh, who is 22, shared photos on Facebook showing the severe injuries her sister suffered.
She says that Ellie-Mae has been left with a bruised and bloodied nose, two black-eyes and two lumps on her head.
She commented, “Just from seeing her face, it’s clear they really attacked her severely. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous. I can’t stand by and let this happen to my sister just because she’s gay.”
“It’s not okay to do this to an 18-year-old, whether she’s gay or not. It is absolutely disgusting.”
“This started over something silly about ten pounds, and then it turned into an issue about her being gay, which I don’t understand why it’s a problem. Whenever there’s an argument, they immediately target her for being a lesbian. They even refuse to take her cigarettes, claiming they don’t want to catch ‘lesbian germs.'”
A spokesman for Humberside Police said: ‘We are aware of an incident that took place yesterday in Hull involving an alleged assault of an 18 year-old woman by two females.’
Detective Chief Inspector Ali Sweeting added: ‘We are in the early stages of our investigations and will be speaking to the victim and to other parties involved to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
‘If it is established that there was a homophobic motive we will be treating this appropriately. We deal with all hate incidents and crimes thoroughly and do not expect the people of our communities to have to suffer from the intolerance of others.’
