Yoga is often thought of as a light exercise that can help improve flexibility and endurance. It turns out that there is a lot more to this ancient system. Yoga practitioners have long believed in the health benefits of yoga and, over time, the medical community began to take notice of this ancient practice.
Yoga is actually a combination of forms, including breathing exercises, poses, and meditation. The connection between the mind and the body is a core aspect of yoga. It can improve your heart health, as well as detoxify your respiratory, cardiovascular, and lymph systems. To detox your system, use these 9 yoga poses.
#1
For the first pose, lie on your back with your legs straight and your heels together. Spread your feet apart and point your toes to the sides. Close your legs and point your toes up towards the ceiling. Open and close your legs in this manner for 4 minutes. When performing this pose, as well as the rest of the yoga poses, focus on your breathing and correct posture.
#2
Continue laying on your back. Place your hands behind your head. Lift your legs a foot or two off the floor and perform a scissor kick – up and down. Keep your legs straight and do not let your heels touch the ground. This exercise can help relieve stress.
#3
Roll onto your stomach and touch your hands to your shoulders. Tuck your elbows to your sides and stick out your tongue. When you exhale, push your body up to Cobra pose, extending your arms and arching your back. Raise your head. When you inhale, lower your body back to the ground. Repeat for 6 minutes. This pose will stretch the muscles around your liver, helping to remove toxins.
#4
Roll onto your back and bring your knees up to your chest.Rest in this position for a minute. Bring your arms straight up towards the ceiling. Next, straighten both your arms and legs at the same time, bringing them to the ground. On the inhale, bring your knees up to your chest and straighten your arms again.
#5
Sit with your legs crossed and your palms on your knees. This is called easy pose. Keep your back straight and then begin revolving your torso, along the base of your spine. Continue performing this motion for 3 minutes.
#6
For the next yoga pose, you will have to stand up.Bend over and grab your ankles. As you hold onto your ankles, squat down. Switch between squatting and bending over, for 2 minutes.
#7
Go back to easy pose, with your legs crossed and your palms on your knees.Perform a chant, “Sat Nam, Sat Nam, Sat Nam, Sat Nam, Sat Nam, Wahe Guru”, lasting for 7 to 8 seconds, and continue for 11 minutes. This meditative pose will help calm your mind.
#8
Remain in easy pose. On an inhalation, stretch your arms over your head, with your palms touching. Hold your arms in this position, while you breathe for 20 to 40 seconds. Exhale and bring your arms back down to your knees. Repeat the pose a second time, for another 20 to 40 seconds.
#9
Stand with your legs slightly apart and your hands to your side. Step your right foot forward, into a slight lunge. Keep your left leg straight and try not to bend your knee. Turn your left foot outward and keep your right foot straight. Lower your torso, to open up your spine. Hold this pose for 1 minute and then switch sides.
Following these 9 poses should only take you 15 to 20 minutes. This is a short routine that anyone can follow, to help detox the respiratory, cardiovascular, and lymph systems. Using these yoga poses will get your organs moving and promote the removal of toxins and debris in your body. Take a small amount of time out of your day to get a large payoff from these yoga poses.
