If you are not familiar with Mark Wahlberg, he’s been around Hollywood for quite some time now. He’s an actor, producer and businessman.
Wahlberg has starred in such hit films as ‘The Perfect Storm’, ‘Planet of the Apes’, ‘The Italian Job’, ‘The Departed’ and others. He currently stars in the soon to be released film ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’.
Mark has also produced such HBO hits as ‘Entourage’, ‘Boardwalk Empire’ and ‘Ballers’.
Recently Mark appeared on the UK’s ‘Graham Norton Show’ with Tom Holland, recent star of Spiderman, to discuss their upcoming projects together.
During the segment, Mark was asked to give his advice to Hollywood newcomer, Tom Holland. Check it out!!
“Go have some fun! Have some fun for me!”…
You have to admit that’s pretty funny right?
Mark Wahlberg, of course, is married and has 4 kids – Michael, 11, Brendan 8, Ella, 13, and Grace 7 – for which he jokes about.
He also tells the host, Graham Norton, that he’s the last one that should be giving advice to Tom, as he says:
“I’m the last person you should ask for advice. You’ve never been to jail, have you?”
Holland responded that he had not.
Then, Mark joked,
“See it’s a complete role reversal. I went to jail before I had a career, so he’s going to go to jail at some point during your career.”
Then Mark added in a serious tone,
“No don’t take any advice from me. The first check I got, I ran to the Mercedes dealer and bought a car.”
“I didn’t have money for registration or insurance. The police towed the vehicle because I was driving without insurance, so you don’t want any advice from me,” Mark explained.
“LA’s the move. Get a jacuzzi. Bring the boys to Cali,” Wahlberg added, referring to Holland’s brothers.
“Get a medical marijuana license,” he continued. “Have some fun, dude. Have some fun for me. I’m 46-years-old, I’m married, I have four kids, I get yelled at and they tell me how much they hate me.”
Now that’s pretty funny, but coming from a father with teenagers that’s expected.
Tom Holland has a bright future and acting career ahead of him. He made his film debut in ‘The Impossible’ alongside Naomi Watts and Ewon McGregor. In 2015, he was cast as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Then in 2016, Holland appeared in the film ‘Captain America: Civil War, the highest-grossing film of 2016.
Holland stars in the soon to be released film, ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’. Look for Holland and Spider-Man in movie theaters across the nation on July 7th.
As for the advice from Transformers’ star Mark Wahlberg well, only time will tell if Tom Holland/Spider-Man makes use of any of it.
Tom should at the very least, as Wahlberg says, ‘have some fun for me’.
