Okay… this may officially creep me out for the rest of my days. It’s the thing nightmares are made of and I mean that seriously. It also puts me off EVER moving to Australia. In Queensland, a terrified family was literally trapped in their house because of a giant Huntsman spider that was on their glass door. It was massive. I have never in my life seen a spider that big. The Huntsman spider is considered the largest in the world because of the breadth of its legs. They are much like the hunting Wolf spiders here in Oklahoma, only much, much bigger. They are very fast and aggressive. You don’t want to tangle with this spider.
These spiders can get to as big as ten to twelve inches in size. They are venomous, but their bite probably would not kill a healthy human. ‘Probably’ isn’t good enough for me. They like to dine on cockroaches and crickets. They prefer living in the woods and in gardens. And in this case on the glass door of a home in Australia. Cringe.
The humongous eight-eyed spider appeared on the glass door of the patio of this couple’s home as they were trying to cook a meal. Lauren Ansell from Mount Coolum in Queensland posted a series of photos of the monster spider on social medial. She nicknamed it ‘Aragog’. This woman is literally insane. She said the spider appeared harmless. Really? In my book, the only good spider is a dead one. They joke about setting the huge hunting spiders where I live on fire. Wolf spiders carry hundreds of young on their backs. They are scary as hell.
Evidently, these idiots tried to move the spider from their patio door and it ticked it off. “My partner was on the outside trying to cook our food. We didn’t want to kill it, but it didn’t like us for trying to move it along,” she glibly told the Daily Mail of Australia. Well, imagine that… you are extremely lucky it did not attack and bite either one of you. It’s not a pet, it’s a predator. Just shaking my head. Some people.
Ansell says that the spider is still alive and happy. Exactly how do you know a spider is happy? As I understand it, it eventually crawled off and they haven’t seen it since. They think it is in the garden somewhere. Man, I’d be moving and soon if I saw something like that near my home. No way would I be out in that garden or even cooking out back after that. Nope.
Her friends were shocked when they saw the pics of the arachnid. She says it’s massive and it’s mean, but Aragog is still alive and they didn’t want to kill it. Given half a chance, that spider would not return that kindness, I guarantee it. Talk about giving you the Willies… I HATE spiders.
